Manex Studios First Film Made in City, about City

TRENTON (AP) - Manex film studios announced their planned 2005 release of "Kangaroo Joey," an animated film based on the Trenton Police Department. Manex stated that an agreement recently reached with Warner Brothers, would allow them to use classic Warner Brothers cartoon characters in "Kangaroo Joey."
Sources at City Hall told the K9News that Mayor Palmer was pleased to learn that Manex is finally doing work in the city. However, the sources related that Palmer was dissappointed by the subject matter, script and choice of characters. In their press release, Manex indicated they have signed the voices of Bugs Bunny, Rocky (the Gangster) and Bugsy (Rocky's muscle-bound dim-witted sidekick) to star in the production.

Why I voted for Butch

This years awarding of Police Officer of the Year to William Butch Osterman has generated a great deal of discussion about the selection process. There are those who believe that Butch was selected by his peers simply because he stands-up to Director Santiago. Some are also saying that Butch was selected to make Santiago look bad. Well, I voted for Butch and I take exception to both of these claims.

FBI begins investigating possible X-File in Trenton

    by C.I. Pucker

TRENTON (AP) - The real life versions of FBI Agents Mulder and Scully will soon be snooping around the city. The K9News learned that two agents from FBI Headquarters will be investigating an incident at City Hall, which borders on the supernatural.
This past Monday the Mayor's office received a package containing fifty award ribbons. The ribbons were for the newly created "Santiago/Palmer Ethics and Morality Award" and were to be presented to officers at the department's annual award ceremony.
The ribbons designed by Mayor Palmer and Director Santiago were supposed to have three light brown wheat sheaves on a royal purple enamel background with a silver border. However, when the box was opened, employees were shocked to find that the ribbons did not look as the were intended.

    City nonagenarian mad as heck!

TRENTON - In her quaint little home in the Villa Park section of Trenton, Rose Marple often sits for long hours knitting and reminiscing of days gone by in the city. Rose, who will only give her age as being "closer to 97 than to 95," has a reputation for telling things like they are.
"Ive always said that lifes too short to beat around the bush; and at my age its truer now than ever," Rose said. "The time has come for me to tell the Mayor and council how I feel about what theyre doing to Trenton. I only hope they get the message," she continued.

    » Absurdum
Last week, during an investigation near the County Courthouse, a suspect ran away from officers. A mounted Metro Unit officer trotted after the suspect on Broad Street toward Hamilton Avenue. However, the cunningness of the suspect proved too great for the equestrian partner. The suspect made a right turn and ran onto Greenwood Avenue. The mounted officer tried to follow the suspect, but the horse had ideas of its own. As unlikely as it sounds, the horse kept trotting on Broad Street until it reached Metro Headquarters, where the horse finally stopped. Imagine if the chase started across town.(Thankfully there were no injuries to the horse, officer or citizens during the incident.)

Judge Joey is no Judge Judy!
In addition to running the police department, Joe Santiago is also the Hearing Officer for disciplinary charges against officers. Because he has a reputation for manipulating underlings, and because he directly oversees the Internal Affairs Unit, disciplinary hearings at the department are viewed as nothing more than a "Kangaroo Court."
A serious question needs to be addressed. How much will Santiago's "Kangaroo Judgements" cost the tax-payers when law suits are settled?

    New Sergeants learn   No-Class
The K9News learned that high ranking officials in the police department are threatening to go public with their concerns regarding a new training program in the department. Several sources have indicated that the department plans to use books from the "Dummies" series, and the books are going to become part of the cirriculum for new sergeants. There is also talk that the books will be used to train recruits.
